PINK REVOLUTION

This revolution has nothing to do with the power of women; as Amitabh Bacchan may be dreaming. This revolution is about the revolution which is being created by the introduction of pink coloured notes of 2000 denomination. The main idea behind introduction of these 2000 notes was to remove black money and corruption from India. These new notes are going to replace old notes of 500 and 1000 denomination and are sure to create a kind of economic and social revolution in India.

People of India are lapping up this revolution with great zeal. People are so enthusiastic that every citizen of India is running to banks and ATM right from 2 AM in the night. Nobody wants to miss the chance to be a part of this revolution and to be a part of history. People are happy which is evident from numerous sound-bytes from general public often saying, “This is a masterstroke indeed.”  Every such person is in the eternal hope of getting the proverbial 15 seconds of fame.

People are so happy that some of them just shove others to squeeze through half open grills of the banks. People are so happy that many of them join the queue without bothering for their daily chores, breakfast and even their jobs. Some people become so happy that they get vertigo and fall on the pavement because they become senseless. Some people have even died because of an overdose of happiness because of this revolution. They are sure to get bravery award during next year’s Republic Day parade at Rajpath.

Some of them who were lucky enough to get hold of the new notes on the first day could not conceal their glee and gave the proof in the form of numerous ‘selfies with the new note’ on social media.

The offices are empty. The farms are empty. The factories are empty. The shops are empty. Shopkeepers are still present in their shops but all the customers are in queue. Shopkeepers are eagerly waiting like expectant mothers for their customers to come with new currency notes. The association of school buses in Mumbai has already announced that they are going to stop plying school buses from 16th November. Children of Delhi’s schools erupted in joy because they are hoping of similar announcement from Delhi’s schools. So, this revolution is going to make all the school going children happy. Every child becomes happy with announcement of holidays in schools.

Every coin has two faces. This revolutionary happiness is not going to last forever. The PM has announced that he needs just 50 days to change everything. So, this happiness is going to last only for 50 days. After that, everything would come to its old mundane ways. All the happiness, zeal and enthusiasm would be gone forever.
