Every parent is worried these days; not about the higher
education but about the placement after the coveted degree. Parents are paying
through their noses so that their wards can secure the much coveted seat in
premier institutions which can guaranty 100% placement. Every year; during the placement
season, you will hear news stories about some bright guy or girl being offered
astronomical pay packages by some or the other giant MNCs. But it seldom happens
that the particular guy or girl belongs to your close circle of relatives and
friends.
While selecting a particular institute of higher education,
people keep the IITs and IIMs at the top of the list. If the candidate fails to
secure a seat in these institutes, then people are forced to settle for some
second rung institutions. While doing all these exercises, people always forget
a highly promising institute which has given stellar performance; in terms of
placement; right from its days of inception. I am talking about the Anna Hazare
Institute of Political Management. This institute was the darling of the media;
only a couple of years ago. It attracted some of the best minds and vagabonds
of India in its first batch of students. Because of its octogenarian dean’s
endless energy and astute mind, the institute could impart the true education
among its alumni. So, it can be termed as a magic that all the past alumni of
this institute created a record of sorts, i.e. of 100% placement in the very
first batch.
You can make a long list of such candidates who are making
their indelible mark in their chosen field. Let us start with the brightest kid
who passed with honours from the Anna Hazare Institute of Political Management.
Yes, I am talking about Arvind Kejriwal. This guy made a record comeback within
a year to bag 67 out of 70 seats in Delhi Assembly. Even today, the guy is
going great guns; as far as on the job performance is concerned.
The next number should be of General V K Singh; who was
astute enough to switch sides at the right time and landed the post in the
Union Ministry. Anupam Kher and Amir Khan also played some minor role in the
workshop conducted by Anna Hazare. Amir seldom gets wrong in his choice of
films and as a result keeps on producing blockbusters at the box office. Anupam
Kher was able to make an alternate career in the industry of sycophancy; and he
is also proving to be highly productive in his chosen field. The latest example
of successful alumni from the esteemed institute is of Kiran Bedi. Initially,
she applied for the same job opening as Arwind Kejriwal, but Arwind Kejriwal
was the successful candidate for the vacany. After that ignominious rejection,
Kiran Bedi did not lose her spirit. She has finally landed in the coveted post
of gubernatorial assignment in Puducherry. The list can be pretty long so it is
not prudent to mention all the candidates here. You are free to make your own
list of successful alumni from the first batch of that institute.
Probably, the world economy was in bad shape or the local
economy was not in healthy situation, hence the institute of Anna Hazare failed
to attract any student in its subsequent batches. But all the parents and
guardians of wannabe teenagers are also to blame for this development. They always
go after the more established brands and tend to ignore a new player even if
the new entrant promises a better future. I hope that Anna Hazare would once
again muster up all his energies to reboot his flailing institution so that many
kids of the new generation can benefit from his innovative pedagogy.
